April 2025 Updates

A muddy hiking adventure to Governor Dodge State Park, WI in March 2025.
Spring is finally here, and the kids are I are so happy to be able to be able to take walks without loads of layers! A lot has been happening with Inventus Art in the past 2 months, so let’s sit and catch up for a while.
The rest of February was filled with cozy-couch story times, hot tea, and a lot of Spoonflower uploads. In case you haven’t visited before, Spoonflower is a popular fabric and home good website that allows customers to print designs made by independent artists for their home and craft projects. Custom-printed fabric designs are a wonderful solution for sewists who are reeling through the closure of Joann stores across the country. After developing an Our Lady of Guadalupe design collection for fabric and wallpaper with some inspiration from a retreat, I had my first ever sales on the Spoonflower platform. Woohoo! Peanuts to some, but it felt rewarding to know that a design I had made was needed and chosen from the tens of thousands in the Spoonflower database. Hopefully there are more to come.
By far the biggest Inventus Art development has been our family’s decision for me to participate in Bonnie Christine’s 2025 Immersion Course for Surface Pattern Design. In this course, I have been refiling my skills in Adobe Illustrator and pattern-making while building design collections for licensing with companies in the near future. My first design collections are “Pacific Journey”, inspired by my experiences sailing 3,000 miles through Polynesia on the crew of a tall-ship during college, and “Trail Spice”, about my time as a wilderness tripping counselor at Camp Manito-wish YMCA in Northern WI. Every day has been a happy hustle to keep up with the course and family life.
Most recently, I have been preparing to start advertising custom wholesale sticker design for small businesses. I love the idea of helping local businesses build their fan-base with custom “merch” that increases their visibility and makes their storefronts more recognizable. Please contact me for prices of various sticker quantities and design services.
As of right now, Inventus Art is still scheduled to attend the Annual IGEMS PTC Spring Craft/Vendor Sale on Saturday, April 12 at Iowa-Grant Elementary/Middle School in Livingston, WI. I am hoping to find more Spring and Summer craft shows and markets. I also have a couple of new products in my online store, including some great items for Mothers Day gifting, and more to come.
